👨‍💻 Teacher’s Insight

The ICT syllabus for Class X is beautifully aligned with real-world web development. When you look at Chapters 3, 4, and 5—Tables, Forms, and DHTML & CSS—you are looking at the exact foundational skills required to build premium, high-converting static websites or seamlessly manage complex CMS platforms like WordPress.

Mastering these specific chapters now means you won’t need to rely entirely on heavy, bloated frameworks later in your career; you can write clean, framework-free Vanilla HTML5 and CSS3 code directly from scratch.

Notice how the Annual Exam is structured: Every single chapter guarantees a 4-mark and a 5-mark long answer question. For the web chapters, you will absolutely be asked to write out HTML tags and CSS syntax by hand. Meanwhile, take careful note of the “Exclusions” block above. Entire sections on TCP/IP, SMTP, and 3G/4G Mobile Technologies have been removed from testing, which saves you a massive amount of rote memorization. Focus your energy on code syntax and GIMP layer management instead.

Teacher’s Study Plan

How to Excel in ICT

A strategic approach to code syntax, software tools, and security.

1

Write Code on Paper

For Chapters 3, 4, and 5, practice writing HTML tables and CSS rules on blank paper. In the exam, you won’t have a code editor to auto-complete your tags.

2

GIMP Tool Properties

For Chapter 02 (Advanced GIMP), memorize the specific shortcut keys and the exact steps to apply layer masks and filters. These are frequent 2-mark questions.

3

Skip the Protocols

As per the syllabus, do not waste time memorizing what HTTP, SSH, or TCP/IP stand for, as they are explicitly excluded from the examinations.

4

Network Security

Chapter 6 (Network Security) carries a heavy 15 marks. Ensure you can clearly define Phishing, Malware, Firewalls, and the importance of Encryption.

5

Form Input Types

For Chapter 04, know the exact difference between a `radio` button and a `checkbox` input in HTML forms, and how to write the code for a drop-down select menu.

6

Perfect Your Practical File

The practical project and notebook carry 10 marks combined. Include neat printouts of your web pages alongside the raw HTML/CSS code in your file.
