Paper Formatting Rules:
- The Annual Exam contains exactly 15 questions representing the 15 chapters (Ch 16 to 30) listed above.
- Chapters 16 through 25 (Jurisprudence/Ahkam) carry 2 marks each.
- Chapters 26 through 30 (Biographies/Seerat) carry a heavier weightage of 4 marks each.
Shia Theology in Class X is deeply rooted in Islamic jurisprudence (Ahkam) and the biographical history (Seerat) of the Prophets and Imams. The syllabus is meticulously divided to ensure students grasp both the practical laws of religion and its historical lineage.
In your Periodic Tests, notice how specific Ahkam are compartmentalized. PT1 focuses heavily on Khums and Zakat, PT2 dives into the specific Nisab (thresholds) for Zakat on crops, gold, and livestock, while PT3 shifts toward the rules of slaughter (Zibah), hunting, and vows (Nazr). Each chapter in the periodic tests consistently carries exactly 2 marks.
For the Annual Exam (40 marks), you must shift your strategic focus. While the jurisprudence chapters (Ch 16-25) continue to carry 2 marks each, the biographical chapters of the Masoomeen (Ch 26-30) carry double the weight at 4 marks each! This means half of your entire final grade relies purely on your knowledge of the lives of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Prophet Musa (A.S), and the Holy Imams.
How to Excel in Theology
A strategic approach to memorizing Fiqh rules and historical biographies.
Master the Seerat
Chapters 26 through 30 carry 20 out of the 40 marks in the Annual Exam. Focus heavily on dates of birth, titles, and major life events of the Prophets and Imams.
Memorize the Nisab
For PT2 and the Annual Exam, you must memorize the exact numerical thresholds (Nisab) for Zakat on gold, silver, sheep, camels, and crops. Create a cheat sheet for these numbers.
Differentiate Zakat & Khums
Ensure you clearly understand what items fall under Khums versus Zakat. Knowing the “Mustahiqeen” (those eligible to receive) for both is frequently tested.
Understand Hunting Rules
Chapter 23 covers hunting (Shikar) and slaughtering (Zibah). Memorize the specific Islamic conditions required for an animal to be considered Halal after hunting.
Rules of Vows (Nazr)
Chapter 24 discusses Nazr (Vows) and Qasam (Oaths). You must know the conditions that make an oath binding and the expiation (Kaffarah) for breaking it.
Write Clearly
Because all answers are subjective (Short and Long answers), present your points clearly. Use bullet points when listing conditions or rules (Ahkam) for better readability.

The Shia Theology Faculty at SolvedNotes is a dedicated team of scholars committed to making the rich intellectual and spiritual heritage of Shia Islam both accessible and deeply relevant to today’s learners. We specialize in the core curriculum of Shia Islamic theology, providing clear, well-structured guidance on foundational topics like Tawhid (Divine Unity), Adl (Divine Justice), Nubuwwah (Prophethood), Imamah (Divine Leadership), and Ma’ad (Resurrection) — the five pillars of the Shia creed.
Our approach goes beyond rote memorization of doctrines — we aim to foster genuine understanding by connecting classical theological discourse with contemporary questions of faith, ethics, and reason. Whether it’s exploring the philosophical arguments for God’s existence, delving into the historical and spiritual significance of the Twelve Imams, or examining the rational basis for justice and free will in Islamic thought, our notes are designed to cultivate critical inquiry, spiritual depth, and a reasoned commitment to faith.
We believe that Shia theology is not just an academic subject — it’s a living framework for understanding God, the universe, and our place within it. Our goal is to help students build intellectual confidence in articulating their beliefs, engaging respectfully with diverse perspectives, and applying theological principles to everyday moral and social challenges. With our step-by-step explanations, contextual historical insights, and balanced presentation of classical and modern scholarly views, learners can approach their exams with clarity and develop a faith that is both intellectually satisfying and practically transformative — in their worship, their communities, and their personal journey toward truth.
