In your Periodic Tests, notice the pattern: there are no direct question-and-answer sections based on the chapters. Instead, your entire grade depends on your ability to perform passage translation (اقتباس کا ترجمہ), poetic interpretation (اشعار کی تشریح), and vocabulary recall. Take advantage of this clear, predictable format.
The Annual Examination (80 marks) is where your translation skills truly pay off. A massive 30 marks are dedicated strictly to translating textbook passages (two passages of 15 marks each). Furthermore, you will face an Unseen Passage (نا معلوم اقتباس) worth 10 marks. Build a habit of reading Persian text daily to improve your reading speed and contextual guessing skills. Finally, do not neglect Gardan (Conjugation)—it is a guaranteed 5 marks if you have memorized your verb tables!
How to Excel in Persian

Master Translation First
Passage translation holds 30 out of 80 marks in the Annual Exam. Practice translating textbook paragraphs into Urdu/English daily without looking at guides.
Memorize the ‘Gardan’
Conjugation (گردان) of verbs is crucial and carries 5 direct marks in the final exam. Write out conjugation tables for past, present, and future tenses repeatedly.
Build Vocabulary
Every periodic test has 4 marks strictly for difficult words and phrases. Maintain a dedicated vocabulary journal.
