A word from the teacher
Chemistry needs a slightly different study approach from Physics. Reading the chapter once is not enough. Students need to keep revising concepts, formulae, reactions and important terms at regular intervals.
For Unit Test I, pay close attention to Solutions and Electrochemistry. Both topics require students to understand the concepts before attempting numerical questions. Make a small formula sheet and practise questions regularly instead of leaving numerical work for the last few days.
In Unit Test II, the focus shifts towards organic chemistry. Students should not try to learn reactions as isolated facts. Write the reactions repeatedly and note the starting compound, reagent, conditions and product. This makes revision much easier.
For Unit Test III, the syllabus includes d- and f-Block Elements and Biomolecules. These topics need regular revision of facts, terms, properties and reactions.
My advice to students: Maintain a Chemistry notebook specifically for revision. Keep separate pages for formulae, important reactions, definitions and difficult points. Whenever you make a mistake in a test or practice question, add it to this notebook and revise it later.
One more thing: write Chemistry, don’t just read it. Practise equations, structures, numerical problems and short answers with a pen. Written practice will help you remember much better than repeated reading alone.
Unit Test – III

- Biomolecules – 07 marks
📝 Assessment
- Unit Test III is marked as Assignment
- Total: 15 marks
How to prepare for Chemistry
Use a regular written-practice routine for theory, reactions and numerical questions.
Read the concept
Understand the topic first instead of trying to memorise every line of the chapter.
Write reactions
Practise important chemical equations and note the reagents, conditions and products.
Practise numericals
Solve numerical questions regularly and show each step clearly.
Revise structures
Practise chemical structures and conversions rather than only reading them from the textbook.
Keep a revision notebook
Record formulae, reactions, definitions and mistakes for quick revision.
Revise often
Short revision sessions at regular intervals are more useful than one long revision session before the test.
