My wife and I were about to go to sleep last night when we heard someone…

When: It happened late last night, just as we were getting ready to sleep.

Where: The sound came from outside our front door, near the living room window.

What: We heard footsteps and some rustling noises. At first, we thought it was an animal, but soon we realized someone was trying to break into our house.

How: I quickly grabbed a flashlight and cautiously went to check. I saw a man trying to pry open the window with a tool. I yelled to scare him off, and fortunately, he ran away before any real damage was done.

Why: I think he was trying to rob us, but thankfully, we were alert and managed to prevent the break-in.
