👨‍🏫 Teacher’s Insight

A Word from the Teacher

Computer Science (Work Education) operates differently from your standard subjects. There is no traditional “Annual Examination” paper. Instead, your entire grade is built progressively throughout the year via 3 Activities and 4 Assignments.

You must treat every submission seriously. Because the grading system takes your Best Two Activities (20 Marks) and Best Three Assignments (30 Marks), consistency is your best strategy. If you score poorly on one HTML assignment, you have a buffer, but you shouldn’t rely on it.

Pay special attention to the division of Chapter 6 (Introduction to HTML). It is so fundamental that it forms the basis of two full assignments and one practical activity. Ensure you understand how to write and debug code correctly, as this will heavily influence your overall subject score.

Teacher’s Study Plan

How to Excel in CS (Work Education)

A strategic approach to maximizing your assignment and activity scores.

1

Master Basic HTML

HTML spans across Activity II, Assignment II, and Assignment III. Practice writing the basic skeletal structure (HTML, HEAD, TITLE, BODY) until it becomes muscle memory.

2

Formatting Tags

For Assignment III, create a cheat sheet of formatting elements. Know exactly when to use bold, italics, underline, subscripts, and superscripts in your web pages.

3

Internet Fundamentals

For Chapter 1 (Activity I and Assignment I), ensure you can clearly define terms like URL, ISP, Web Browser, Search Engine, and Protocols.

4

Ethics and Society

Chapter 10 (Societal Impacts of IT) is highly theoretical. Focus on cyber safety, plagiarism, intellectual property rights, and the ethical use of information technology.

5

Neatness Matters

Because the bulk of your grade relies on written Assignments (30 marks), presentation is key. Write neatly, draw diagrams where necessary, and ensure your HTML code is properly indented on paper.

6

Don’t Miss Submissions

Even though the system takes the “Best 2” or “Best 3”, submitting all activities and assignments ensures you maximize your chances of getting a perfect 50/50 overall score.
