Bifurcation of Syllabus of Class X Arabic for the session 2026-2027. This syllabus is meant for all AMU Schools, finalized at STS School AMU, Aligarh.
The bifurcation of the Class X Arabic syllabus for the academic session 2026-2027 was decided in a meeting held at STS School AMU, Aligarh on 24.03.2026. The curriculum utilizes the book القراءة الواضحة (الجزء الاول) النصف الاخر (Al-Qira’atul Wadhihah, Part 1, Second Half). It lays out precise chapters, grammar rules, and translation patterns across Three Periodic Tests (20 marks each) and an Annual Examination (80 marks).

Annual Assessment Breakdown:
- The Annual Exam covers all Periodic Test chapters plus chapters 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, and 43.
- Extensive Arabic grammar (قواعد) is tested, including active/passive verbs, participles, instrument/place nouns, elative nouns, and sound/broken plurals.
- Additional Internal Assessment: Subject Enrichment marks: 05 | Note Book marks: 05.
A Word from the Teacher
The Class X Arabic syllabus from Al-Qira’atul Wadhihah requires a solid foundation in both translation and applied grammar.
In your Periodic Tests, a consistent 8 marks are dedicated to translating Arabic passages into Urdu, Hindi, or English. The remaining 12 marks are practical exercises: word meanings, fill-in-the-blanks, and sentence correction. Ensure you memorize the vocabulary at the end of each chapter. In PT2, do not forget to practice Arabic Counting (عربی میں گنتی).
The Annual Examination broadens significantly (80 Marks). You will not only translate from Arabic to Urdu/English but also from Urdu/English into Arabic. The grammar section (قواعد) becomes highly technical, demanding knowledge of verb conjugations (active/passive), noun derivations (Subject, Object, Instrument, Place), and plural forms (Sound and Broken).
How to Excel in Arabic
A strategic approach to translation, vocabulary, and derived nouns.
Master Translations
Practice translating textbook passages smoothly into your preferred language (Urdu, Hindi, or English) to secure the dedicated 8 marks in periodic tests.
Reverse Translation
For the Annual Exam, practice translating simple English or Urdu sentences back into Arabic. Focus on correct verb-subject agreement.
Vocabulary is Key
Maintain a running list of ‘Book words’ (کتابی الفاظ). You will be tested on their meanings and usage in sentences.
Derive Nouns
Understand the morphological patterns (Wazn) to create Active/Passive Participles (اسم فاعل، اسم مفعول) and Nouns of Instrument/Place from root letters.
Learn Plurals
Arabic plurals can be tricky. Explicitly memorize the ‘Broken Plurals’ (جمع مکسر) as they do not follow standard suffix rules.
Internal Assessment
Keep your notes organized and actively participate in class activities to ensure you receive the full 10 marks for Subject Enrichment and Note Book.
